Communication Arts- Social causes and WEB

Are there really people alive today who think meth is harmless? I think these billboards will take care of any of the stragglers who are still wondering why they are just getting paid 15 bucks. I found these in Communication Arts Magazine in the social causes and web annual. I think they SHOULD be effective as graphic and straight forward as they are. This is not an "Egg on drugs" in a frying pan... it is the sick, cold, hard facts (not to mention very funny) Champaign actually had the scabs billboard. This is almost "visual assault" to all of us who know meth is bad.

Do you think this designer's boss gave him a talk a few months before these billboards. Maybe something like "Hey, do you really want to be here? You are going to have to step this stuff up, Im not believing you, Im not feeling it, give me more". Thats how I see it going down.

I agree, those meth ads are definitely visually disturbing! I wrote a paper on those series of ads last year and most of the evidence I found said that they have not been noticeably successful. Though they stem from the truth, I think that they are somewhat outrageous and that kids may find them extreme and therefore may not see the true harm in meth use. If that makes sense? There are definitely good aspects of the design, though- it's certainly memorable!

Those meth ads are very disturbing! I see them all over TV and even in magazines and the news paper. It's very catchy though and you know right away it's a meth ad/commercial. It's an attention-grabber for many and it's very disturbing!
